The Place Plan for Gilgandra integrates strategic planning, land use frameworks, community and business activation to develop a synthesised action plan to guide CBD revitalisation. The Plan for Gilgandra will strategically consider solutions which strengthen the existing investment in the CBD and facilitate Gilgandra’s growth into the future, focusing on both short term opportunities and key transformational projects.

A technically informed understanding of place seeks to gain a holistic picture of the demographic profile, physical place, the heartbeat of the community and the intrinsic layers of activation.
Opportunity Review
An in-depth review of place and activation opportunities available to Gilgandra Shire Council, which have the capacity to elevate the CBD and surrounding township, undertaken across three spheres: regional opportunities, township opportunities and CBD opportunities.
Place Actions & Intervention Report
The project outcomes are reported in a place-focused manner to provide an overview of considerations. These include activation principles, catalyst sites, precinct planning, short, medium and long term actions, transformation projects (activating dead spaces), and suggestions on third party led concepts.
Success Promotion Piece
A 4-page promotion piece was created to highlight the success of the Blueprint to date, current status of the proposed initiatives and next steps for Gilgandra.
